The porn film industry doesn't conform to the standards of mainstream motion pictures for mostly obvious reasons. The two industries operate on completely different planes of existence. There is a similar segregation between adult interactive games and their mainstream counterparts. I don't believe that erotic game developers ever even play non-adult commercial games, or they would know not to force players to sit through the intro every time. And such is the issue with Anal Fantascenes, and in fact all of Digital Playground's titles. A glaring oversight. And for having to choose what language I want to play the game in every time I start a DP title, it's called a config file. [But such was the adult cd-rom market, which basically no longer exists] But of course the latter doesn't have hot porn stars getting into all kinds of hardcore action at the click of the mouse either.

Speaking of hardcore action, if that's what you're looking for in a pc game, then look no further than Anal Fantascenes, which consists of scene upon scene of explicit sex, blowjobs, and anal sex. So why the average rating, you ask? Because Anal Fantascenes consists of scene upon scene of explicit sex, blowjobs, and anal sex. Don't get me wrong, I like these things, but how about some build-up to the explicit events, like, oh I don't know, stripping? Or why not just browse the internet for all the computer-ready porn you could handle?

So what does this cd-rom version of porn offer? The Fantascenes series allows the player to easily splice together all manner of hardcore scenes together with it's interface. Add in two camera angles that were filmed simultaneously, and you have the tools to create your own porno film. Sounds really cool, doesn't it? Well it is at first, but the novelty wears off quickly when you realize that you only have so much material to work with. Without any stripping or foreplay there are limited possibilities in your "FantaSaved" video. You only have to choose what you like, right? So I say they should have put in something for everyone. Anal sex could have still been the central focus. Also, will I ask any more questions in this review?

When this title originally came out, the appeal of it's interactive functions was much stronger. But in this era of DVDs, Anal Fantascenes loses most, if not all of its luster. X-rated interactive DVDs filmed in multiangles are common, and serve as the better choice for this type of erotica. If you could import scenes from other pornos, or perhaps download new clips from Digital Playground's web site, all of which you could edit with Fantascenes, now that would be something; and it would have greatly increased the life of this cd-rom.
