The best selling genre of adult interactive entertainment would have to be virtual cybersex. Okay, so there really aren't that many other genres to choose from. It all comes down to either games or simulations, with some combinations of the two such as Space Sirens. But sex sims sell because they provide directly what we as porn consumers want: the illusion of having sex with an incredibly gorgeous woman, a manifestion of our fantasies. Better yet, these ladies are famous porn stars, and these products are now firmly rooted in the exploding DVD market.

It's no surprise then, that Digital Playground's Virtual Sex series is doing so well, and that adult film superstars are lining up to appear in their own Virtual Sex release. In this article, AGR reviews the first of this series to hit the market, Virtual Sex with Jenna.

DVD UPDATE - I'm unhappy to report that the DVD version of this title offers no more content than what you will find on the the CD-Rom reviewed here. As is expected of the DVD format the video quality is crystal clear and the interface is slightly modified, but the small amount of content seems miniscule on a DVD. After seeing Tera Patrick strip and more on her Virtual Sex DVD, I was hoping to see Jenna do the same on her's. Obviously, Digital Playground didn't want to pay the world's most popular porn star to come in and shoot some scenes, but they would have made this money back in spades. At any rate, if you're a Jenna fan, then get the DVD version for the superior quality, but don't set your expectations too high.

After the standard intro screens, Jenna Jameson appears in the interface window and spews out sweet nothings for a few seconds. Then, upon clicking on the action to be performed, she's out of her underwear and attacking the task at hand. Inotherwords, like most DP products, the sex scenes cut right to the chase. I would have preferred the option to remove her garments, and then have her or a pair of onscreen arms play with her tits and nips. Not possible. Being able to change her personality on the fly to either naughty or nice is a funky innovation.
